Join Houska Gallery this Friday for the opening reception of a new exhibition featuring recent paintings by acclaimed contemporary artist Alicia LaChance.
LaChance’s richly layered abstract works draw inspiration from a lifelong fascination with objects, history, symbolism, and materiality. Influenced by everything from antique Americana and folk traditions to street art and contemporary visual culture, her paintings combine acrylic, casein, latex, spray paint, silkscreen, and hand-worked markmaking into dynamic compositions that explore color, process, and possibility.
Her work has been commissioned for major projects around the world, including Google Headquarters in New York City, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, The Londoner Macau, The Vinoy Hotel, Vandenberg Space Force Base, and the Mayo Clinic.
The exhibition opens Friday at Houska Gallery. Visitors are invited to experience LaChance’s vibrant new body of work and meet the artist during the opening reception.
