About the Artists
Misato Pang
Born in Hong Kong to Japanese and Chinese parents and now rooted in St. Louis, Pang weaves memory, identity, and social commentary into paintings, ceramics, collage, and printmaking. Her award-winning work, recently featured in New American Paintings, blurs personal narrative with broader cultural threads, inviting viewers to pause and reflect.
Jacob Janes
A Hannibal native and former state-champion wrestler, Janes brings the same discipline he showed on the mat to his studio practice. His paintings explore visual perception and community connection, shaped by years of teaching and co-running Janes & Pang Atelier. Expect powerful gestures and a keen sense of movement on canvas.
Together, Pang and Janes build a dialogue on togetherness—how individual stories converge, overlap, and ultimately endure.
