If you’re looking for a reason to get out this Friday, Houska Gallery is opening a new exhibition worth seeing.
Hoffman and Friends, on view May 1 through June 6, 2026, features new work by St. Louis–based artist Michael Hoffman alongside other gallery artists. The opening reception takes place Friday, May 1, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. It’s a relaxed, come-and-go evening with wine, conversation, and a chance to experience the work up close.
About the Artist
Hoffman’s work reflects a life shaped by travel and creative environments. Born in New York City, he later studied film and photography at The Evergreen State College before spending a decade documenting circus communities across Europe.
Now based in St. Louis, he has worked as a full-time artist since 2001. His pieces draw on influences from Spain and France, with rich color and layered texture that feel especially compelling in person.
