Barry Leibman is a St. Louis based painter whose art practice spans over two decades. Leibman’s images act as a visual translation from the language of music or written word, voking the synesthetic qualities existent within the work. The subject matter of his paintings includes passages from novels and musical compositions. Leibman’s on-going interest in music now takes a look at some of the great musicians and composers ranging from Beethoven to Cage. Leibman has exhibited widely and is known well as the co-owner of Left Bank Books until 2010
