For the past 10 years, Amy Reidel has worked with weather radar imagery, specifically of storms over St. Louis. She has re-created the design and colors of radar through temporary installations of glitter and colored sand on the floor reminiscent of spiritual mandalas. A native of St. Louis, Amy Reidel received her B.F.A in studio art from University of Missouri-St. Louis and her M.F.A from the University of Tennessee. Reidel is also the co-founder and creative editor of All the Art: The Visual Art Quarterly of St. Louis.
Does the glitter art remind you of anything? The process somewhat resembles that of tibetan monk sand sculptures.
