After 4 generations, my grandmother’s dining room table has new chairs! It is almost sacrilegious to replace them, though the set of 12 dwindled to 6 with family members collapsing to the ground during gatherings. My mother used to have them cobbled together, though furniture repair people told her that they could not get fixed anymore. I still have the remaining ones left to use during large dinners, though I now have 6, sturdy new ones that more contemporary and comfy.
