Tee off at the Sheldon Art Galleries this summer at Golf the Galleries, a playable, artist-designed, nine-hole mini golf installation! The marks the second year for this unique course, designed by St. Louis artists, architects, museums and schools, including maker-sponsors Cannon Design, Christner Inc. and World Chess Hall of Fame, and individual artists and teams D. Lohr Barkley and Elisa Sugar, Justin King, Ryan Marshall, Constance Vale, Kelley Van Dyck Murphy and The Wilson School in Clayton. Among the whimsical designs are an undersea adventure, a detailed replica of the Fabulous Fox Theatre, a surreal “Pinwheel Dreamland,” two holes that reimagine the role of the humble carpet, a pixelated landscape, a candy-filled wonderland, a mechanical puzzle and chess-inspired ‘90s beach scene. Golf the Galleries is a perfect summer outing for all ages!
The course is open June 1-August 11. Visit TheSheldon.org for more information on this fun, interactive exhibit!
Golf the Galleries is sponsored in part by Lewis Rice and hole sponsors include Cannon Design; Christner Inc.; Dynamic Arts, LLC; Mary Ann and Richard Shaw; Mary Ann and Andrew Srenco; Mary Strauss; Ted Wight; The Wilson School 6th grade parents; and The World Chess Hall of Fame.
