Every great designer tells a story — not just through what they create, but why they create it. That’s why A Man with Sole: The Impact of Kenneth Cole feels especially at home at the St. Louis International Film Festival (SLIFF). Since 1992, SLIFF has championed bold, independent storytelling and is one of the few festivals recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. It’s the kind of place where purpose-driven voices are not just seen, but celebrated.
This year, one of those voices belongs to Kenneth Cole. Long before “brand activism” was a buzzword, Cole used fashion to move culture forward — bringing awareness to HIV/AIDS, homelessness, mental health, and human rights through the platform of his global brand. A Man with Sole traces that journey with honesty, creativity, and heart.
There’s a special local tie as well: the film is co-produced by Jack Lane, co-founder of STAGES St. Louis and a celebrated Broadway producer, adding another meaningful layer to its story.
