Find Your Farmer, a new online marketplace launched by 5 Washington University Students, is bringing assorted local produce straight to your doorstep. The website allows customers to shop produce and goods from over 25 St. Louis area farmers and artisans, cutting down your trips to the grocery store while supporting the local economy and agriculture.
The way it works is simple, and their tagline could not be more perfect: Harvested today, delivered tomorrow. The online shop opens on Wednesday, and customers can place orders through Monday. Orders are input on Monday night, and the farmers harvest their orders on Tuesday. Then, on Wednesday morning, the produce is taken to Urban Eats, the team’s commercial kitchen, and delivered to customers later that day in sustainable packaging by Find Your Farmer Staff.
In short, Find Your Farmer hopes to help support local farmers and bring sustainable products to its customers, but if the business model works in St. Louis, the team would like to see the company spread to markets outside the city.
