In the early 2000’s, King Louie’s (Chouteau & 39th Street in Tower Grove) seemed to be our go-to place for friend’s birthdays and general gatherings. It always was a treat.
I was excited to see that Matt McGuire was opening Louie’s in the old Jimmy’s spot in Demun.
Last week I popped in at the last minute & was happy to see there was space at the bar. The appetizer of Polenta, Roast Mushrooms, Grana Padano was hearty & full of flavor. I had the Grilled Flank Steak with a Salsa Verde on the side, which I had to lap up every morsel. My guest had the Pork Chop with Shishito Peppers & Chermoula.
A lovely atmosphere, an attentive waiter/bartender & great food made this a new destination on my “restaurant circle” (restaurants that a person frequents on a regular basis.)
