Doubling as both a bakery and a trendy little lunch cafe, Union Loafers provides a great place to relax away from the rush of a busy work day. As soon as I walked in the door, the first thing I noticed was the mouth-watering smell of freshly baked bread. They had rye, ciabatta, oat porridge bread and baguettes all freshly baked and for sale at the counter. However, in addition to the bakery, the restaurant itself was simply delightful. The simple and minimalistic design of the cafe really enhances your experience and I instantly felt right at home. And of course, it was no surprise that the food here was absolutely delicious. I ordered the lunch special including both the kale & garbanzo soup and turkey & swiss sandwich on light & mild bread. Both dishes were absolutely scrumptious!
After this lovely meal at Union Loafers, we decided to head across the street to check out a chic French pastry shop called La Patisserie Chouquette. There were enticing french pastries on display throughout the store including some absolutely stunning wedding cakes! I decided to order some macaroons, one of their specialities, and let me tell you they certainly lived up to their reputation.
