2016 VP Parade

The 2016 Veiled Prophet Parade is returning to the streets of downtown St. Louis on Saturday July 2, 2016 instead of being hosted in Forest Park.  The parade will start at 9:30 A.M. on Market Street at 7th Street and will proceed west on Market to Union Station at 20th Street.

The new map of the 2016 VP Parade Route is below! Click on the link under it for a larger version.

Previously the parade was broadcasted in various local markets, but now the parade Grand Marshal Jim Hetlage says the VP Parade will be available in 15 states and more than 13.5 million households. St. Louis viewers can see the broadcast on KMOV (Channel 4).

That birthday parade will include the usual standbys, including floats, balloons and marching bands. The floats celebrate the parade’s theme “Hats off to heroes,” which the Veiled Prophet organization calls “a tribute to Americans from all walks of life whose contributions make them heroes in their communities.”

I snapped a picture of some of the costumes/decorations when I was at a rehearsal.
