Mid-century St. Louis

Gravel Roofs

Many of the Mid-century homes have low sloped roofs that are not ideal for typical asphalt shingles. There is not enough of a drop and water tends to travel back under the shingles. This is why an ideal roofing for these homes is gravel. You can also put on a metal roof.  This house is in the fun Craig Woods subdivision in Kirkwood.  I showed another house in this Mid-century enclave over the weekend….blogged about the house earlier last week. Very cool!
