Great Mid-Century Home: 11527 Conway Rd, Westwood Ladue Schools

"MID-CENTURY MODERN, designed by noted architect, Ben Shapiro. Superior quality materials and workmanship. On entering through the solid wood front doors, into the reception hall, the open floor plan allows for a spectacular view through the 38' wall of floor to ceiling, double glazed windows in the Living Room. The Living Room has a high, solid, wood beamed ceiling, indirect lighting, and 14' of closets with wet bar, shelves and fine wooden doors. A third living room wall is of brick, and houses the wood burning fireplace and expansive, stone hearth. The Dining Room and Family rooms are open to this area, and wonderful Virginia green stone flooring covers the entertainment space. The views through walls of windows in both the Master and the other bedrooms are exquisite as well. Sky lights in halls and Master suite The roof is one piece construction. A Mutschler Kitchen for those Mid- century modern enthusiasts."

  1. Double-glazed windows carry a number of cost-cutting benefits, including better heat retention and diminished air leakage. In cold weather, less warm air will escape through the windows, and the surface of the double-glazed glass will reduce the loss of heat. In warm weather, double-glazed glass can help retain less solar heat, keeping the house cooler while providing a clear view and bright daylight.
