Upper East Side Townhouse From “The Undoing” Currently Listed for $30 Million

One of my favoritie shows I am watching currently is The Undoing on HBO. If you have not already started it you must!

From Architectural Digest
An Upper East Side townhouse with a recognizable red-brick facade is currently on the market for $30 million. The five-story home that appears in the HBO hit The Undoing first listed for $35 million in May 2018, but the price has since dropped—just as interest has increased. (Newsweek first reported the news.)

On the show, Nicole Kidman’s character Grace Fraser resides in the posh dwelling (though the series never actually shows the interiors). In reality, it is a nine-bedroom residence just steps from Central Park that was originally built in 1878 by C.P.H. Gilbert to resemble an 18th-century British townhouse. It has most recently been divided into two duplex rental units and a ground-floor commercial space, but with the right new owner, it could be spruced up to be a luxurious single-family dwelling.

Original details abound in the now-vacant building, including herringbone floors, historical moldings, high ceilings, and a formal square staircase. The townhouse measures 25 feet wide and boasts six fireplaces scattered throughout, as well as unique rounded bay windows and two private terraces. There is a library with a stately fireplace, a formal dining room that opens onto one of the terraces overlooking the private garden, and a home fitness center. The main suite is situated on the fourth floor, which currently functions as the lower floor of a duplex; there is also a galley kitchen, laundry room, and two additional bedrooms.
