Every home tells a story, but every once in a while, the pool steals the show. Over the years I’ve had the chance to list and sell some of the most striking backyard pools in St. Louis. Here’s a look back at nine of my favorites, from historic firsts to full-blown resort setups.
Clayton: 33 Brentmoor Park
This home’s saltwater pool comes with a pool house that borrows a page from royal history: its design echoes Queen Victoria’s Brighton Pavilion. Not your average pool house.
Ladue
Designed by noted architect, Bernoudy, this home pairs its pool with a striking modern glass enclosure, a rare combination in St. Louis real estate.
Wildwood
The pool area here does the heavy lifting: a waterfall, a hot tub, and a putting green just steps away. This one was built for entertaining.
Imperial
Designed by Maritz & Young, this home’s original pool overlooks the Mississippi River, a setting you can’t recreate no matter the budget.
Clayton:
A saltwater pool shaped like a fleur-de-lis, framed by a perfectly manicured lawn.

Saltwater pool, a cabana, and an outdoor fireplace – this one was so cozy!

A stunning pool terrace with its own fireplace, but it was the view that made this one unforgettable.
Town & Country
This pool holds a notable distinction: it’s believed to be one of the first black-bottom pools in St. Louis. It also has a Hollywood-adjacent history, it once was the backdrop for a Playboy magazine photo shoot.
