Philadelphia and Villanova

img_9415Over the weekend I went over to Philadelphia to visit my second son, Nicholas, or he likes to go by Nick.  Nicholas just started law school at Villanova and I had to check in with him to see how things were going. My oldest son, Teddy, or he likes to go by Ted or Ira, joined us and my brother John, who lives in Corning, NY.  We lodged at the Hotel Palomar, a Kimpton Hotel, in downtown Philadelphia.

During our visit, I feel like we just ate….though we did visit Villanova, the Philadelphia Museum of Art…twice and walked around town. Nicholas lives in Manayunk which is a cool, urban neighborhood full of shops, restaurant & bars….all in walking distance from his apartment.  We noticed that Manayunk had 3 Catholic churches within 5 blocks.   It seems that the various Catholics did not mix well…the Irish wanting their own church, etc.

Nicholas was happy and adjusted to his new chapter of his life.
