Last night I hosted a little birthday dinner for a friend. Three of us decided to make the dinner from Feast Magazine's December issue- Slow Sunday Supper recipes. I find myself reading these recipes all of the time and never making them. The dinner was outstanding: Frisee with Mandarins, Pistachios and Chevre (so perfect!), Cheddar and Chive Popovers (these were the only thing that were not perfect- seemed a little heavy to stay "popped', Provencal Braised Beef Short Ribs, Creamy Buttermilk and Parsnip Mashed Potatoes and Rustic Fig Tart with Walnuts, Blue Cheese and Tasmanian Leatherwood Honey. Of course we also had a Red Velvet birthday cake….this was not part of the published dinner.
